Welcome to our first newsletter of 2024. Since starting Let It Out back in April 2023,  we've organised and conducted a total of 86 two-hour sessions in Winchester and Andover, benefiting over 200 individuals. The feedback has been nothing short of amazing, and it's been so heartening to see the positive impact on people's lives (not just on mental health, but also the friendships that they've made along the way).

Navigating Hope Amidst the Headlines

In a world filled with disheartening headlines — ranging from a rising poverty crisis to alarming suicide rates — we understand the importance of fostering hope and trust. Many individuals start the year with a bleak outlook, facing challenges such as a cost-of-living crisis, over-loaded support systems and an increase in mental health referrals. At Let It Out, our focus is on rebuilding trust and instilling hope, especially for those grappling with self-esteem issues, low confidence, anxiety, and depression.

The Power of Trust & Hope

The most significant gains observed in our workshops are in the realms of trust and hope, participants often join with fractured trust in themselves and others, coupled with a diminished sense of hope for the future.

Most of the individuals who take part in our well-being workshops come to us with a lack of self-esteem, low self-confidence, anxiety, depression and many other struggles with their mental health and well-being. The trust and lack of self belief they have in themselves and others has been broken and along with it the hope they have for the future. This is reflected in the scores they give themselves before the sessions start. However, by the end of our eight-week course, 'Trust & Hope' consistently emerges as the highest-scoring outcome. There is light at the end of this tunnel.

We Need To Have Trust & Hope, it can drive us to improve, do more, feel better. Without hope it's difficult to feel much else.

The Let It Out Approach

At the core of our approach is a deep understanding of personal safety, comfort, and confidentiality. Our talk therapy sessions create a warm and welcoming environment where individuals can freely express their thoughts and concerns without fear. Our dedicated facilitators provide expert support and compassion, emphasising the importance of non-judgmental spaces for emotional exploration. We'd love for you to join us on this exciting journey of trust, hope and above all love.

Breaking the Stigma: Introducing Our Men's Group

In our commitment to breaking the stigma around mental health, we're excited to announce our new men's group! A welcoming and respectful space for men to connect and grow by sharing their diverse experiences. Our first men's group was run towards the end of last year and off the back of its success we're continuing to grow this area of our business in an effort to break the stigma that's attached to men speaking up about mental health concerns. Please get in touch with us if you'd like to find out more

Our Sponsor a Place Initiative in work!

Jane's* story exemplifies the transformative power of counselling and Let It Out's wellbeing courses. Despite a challenging childhood, Jane found healing through counselling and is now six years sober. With the support of local business owner Joe Johal, who sponsored Janes place through our scheme (more details are available here), Jane has embarked on our wellbeing course, continuing her journey towards healing, whilst gaining confidence she never thought possible and making life-long friends along the way.

We're so pleased Jane was offered this experience via Joe's generosity and would love to be in a position to offer more and more of these funded spaces for people like Jane. If you would like to sponsor a space for someone please get in touch
